This time, the Diamond is projected and re-drawn in coloured pencil. Colour pencil on paper, 840mm x 1200mm</p> <p>Upon buying a second hand book in a charity shop, I found inside a folded newspaper page from 1958. This featured hand drawn illustrations of 12 rare and precious gems. Photographing the page, I enlarged it and re-drew the contents in coloured pencil. By drawing the Ruby in the detail of the print grain, it has been returned to its original pencil medium. The rarity of the print, page, drawing and stone are acknowledged and celebrated. In doing so, the printed media and pencil drawing are reconciled.</p> <p><em>By chance a friend in Manchester mentioned organizing an exhibition in a charity shop. It emerged that the shop is the same one that the page was found in.
